About Sion Kori Cira
Kori Michael Cira has been described by many as an innovative musician, singer and songwriter. Kori has composed, arranged and produced music for over 25 years with several groups throughout his career. He started playing guitar at the age of 7, initially taught by his father Daniel Cira, and by the age of 12 was playing and performing in church coffee house events with friends from the capitol city of NY.
During high school Kori studied under his teacher Don Lutzy a Berklee School of Music graduate, and played in jazz ensemble for 3 years. By the age of 17 he was performing in jazz clubs with Don, and brother, Danny Cira. Kori’s first serious band was with the group Ariel. The band recorded a variety of originals at the renowned Arabellum studio and many are still played on the air today.
After Ariel, he went on to form the band E Xpress doing covers, originals and live performances throughout the Capital Region. At the age of 22 he received Jesus as his savior and chose to exclusively play worship music from then on. For several years he played in churches as a worship team member and worship leader.
His personal success came when he formed the band Revealer as an outreach ministry of his church Light of the World. The band performed at many concerts for churches and music festivals such as, Kingdom Bound and Glory Fest. With Revealer, Kori has opened shows for artists such as Rick Cua, Margret Becker, Second Chapter of Acts and the News Boys.
In 1995 Revealer recorded their first CD “No Distance”. During an opportunity to perform at Conway Twitty’s Auditorium in Nashville, TN, Kori was offered three recording contracts. He decided not to accept the offers due to publishing writes and a young family commitment. Kori, with Revealer continued to record new music and released their CD “Could This Be Faith” in 2013.
Kori has been the principal songwriter for Revealer amassing a large catalog of God centered music. Additional works crossover to other genres all spanning over 25 years of writing and performing. He now has the pleasure of working with Touch Music Group/Celebrate Grace to release new music with God as his inspiration.
In his own words, “Music has always been a built in passion for me and remains one of my God given strengths”.
My music has its own style, I can’t compare it to nobody! I have nothing but love for those who support my grind and believe in me and what I can bring to the table. Stay with me, my goal is to light up the music game.
